One-to-one Sessions

Regulation isn’t about never feeling stressed.

It is the ability to modulate your inner state: to downshift when your mind is racing and you feel overwhelmed. With Sophrology, you build capacity over time: through conscious breathing, dynamic relaxation, body awareness and guided visualisation. A quiet shift happens in how much your nervous system can take in without feeling overwhelmed. The same situation no longer sets off quite the same reaction. There is room for a pause, and a choice in how you respond.

Sleep problems can take different forms: a racing mind that keeps you from falling asleep, or waking in the night and being unable to drift off again. Sophrology works through slow breathing, a gradual relaxation of the body and visualisation to calm the mind, to help restore a good night’s sleep.

Stress tends to build gradually, often unnoticed, until it shows up as tension in the body and worry in the mind. Sophrology works through breathing techniques and gentle tension-and-release movements, to help release that tension and settle the nervous system.

Focus can slip in different ways: attention that scatters, tasks that pile up, a mind that jumps from one thing to the next. Sophrology works through short concentration exercises, anchoring attention in the breath or a sensation, to help bring the mind back to what matters.

Before an exam, a presentation or an important conversation, nerves can take over and self-doubt creeps in. Sophrology works by rehearsing the moment in a calm, relaxed state, and anchoring a simple gesture to use on the day, to help you arrive grounded and confident.

Being highly sensitive means processing everything deeply. It brings real gifts: noticing details others miss, being moved by beauty, sensing what others feel. It can also be exhausting, with overload coming quickly in a noisy, crowded place or under bright light. Sophrology helps you navigate these deep emotions. Through grounding exercises and calming breath, you learn to recognise the first signs of overload, step back and set boundaries, like a filter that lets the world reach you a little less intensely. Over time, this builds your capacity to stay open to the world without being overwhelmed by it.

Even after a long night’s sleep, your energy doesn’t come back, and things that once felt easy now take real effort. Moods may shift more than usual too, often without a clear reason, until you no longer quite recognise yourself. Depleted energy and mood swings can be linked. Sophrology helps you navigate these changes. Through body awareness, energising movements and breathing, and by reconnecting with what matters to you, it allows you to understand what you are going through and find steadier ground, day by day.

The Path

We begin with an initial Sophrology session to understand your needs and priorities, and to experience the method for the first time. From there, I put together a personalised protocol with clearly identified areas of focus, usually over three to six sessions, and you decide whether to go ahead.

Once the protocol begins, you receive written guidance between sessions on the practical tools we explored together, so you can revisit them at home. Practising them regularly is what builds capacity. Throughout, I check in to see how things are going.

The initial session lasts between an hour and an hour and a half. Sessions are guided in English or French, in a private practice in South Kensington or online via Zoom, wherever you are.

Teenagers

Adolescence is a time of change: in the body, in friendships, in the sense of who they are becoming. Alongside academic pressure, teenagers need a space where they feel listened to, without judgement.

Sessions help them recognise what they feel and build simple tools of their own, to use before an exam, at bedtime or when emotions run high.

We begin with a conversation with a parent and a questionnaire on school, sleep and daily life, so that each session reflects the teenager’s wider context. The sessions themselves are with the teenager alone.
